Saru Mia Jaheda khatun scholarship is an educational stipend program to provide financial support to meritorious students of grade 6 to 12 studying at the Dramapur Nazim Ali School and College located at the Upozilla Chouddagram of Comilla District. Established in 1972, Dharmapur Nazim Ali School and College has been providing education in the fields of Humanities, Business Management and Science. Being an alumni of the school, the donors are giving back to their Alma Mater by setting up a trust fund which will perpetually provide monetary support to selected meritorious students. Continuing education in a rural setting is always an uphill battle. This scholarship seeks to provide some support to unload the burden of educational expenses.
This program provides annual scholarships to 14 meritorious students, 2 from each grade from 7 to 12. Students are selected based on their school examination performance. From the top 10 students of each grade, the top girl student and the top boy student get the scholarship. If the top 10 students of a grade are all boys or all girls, then the top 2 students get the scholarship. The rate of the scholarship for each grade is as follows –
2 scholarships for grade 6, each at Tk. 3000 per year
2 scholarships for grade 7, each at Tk. 3600 per year
2 scholarships for grade 8, each at Tk. 4200 per year
2 scholarships for grade 9, each at Tk. 4800 per year
2 scholarships for grade 10, each at Tk. 5400 per year
2 scholarships for grade 11, each at Tk. 6000 per year
2 scholarships for grade 12, each at Tk. 6600 per year
This is a donor specific program where a generous donation from a single donor is fixed-deposited and the scholarships are provided each year from the interest earned.
