SpaandanB Open Dialogue and Fundraiser
Sunday, Dec 4th, 12-4 pm
We cordially invite you to "2011 SpaandanB Open Dialogue and Fundraiser" event on DEC 4 from 12 noon to 4:00 PM at David's restaurant, Santa Clara. Unlike previous years' fundraiser events, this year we are proud to present an exciting forum where your active participation is solicited. You will be presented with recent data from two flagship SpaandanB projects and will be requested to review our future plans in an interactive format. We firmly believe these two projects will bring impactful changes in Bangladesh and all of us can play decisive roles to enhance project reach and improve project function: <.p>
- Entrepreneurship Project (EP) : Directed at empowering and enabling untapped talent population to succeed in entrepreneurial ventures.
DetailsStill in its infancy, EP hopes to unleash the potential of the hugely creative but mostly untapped pool of talent across Bangladesh. We implemented a pilot project in 2011, termed EC 2011, with resounding success. The pilot project identified, screened, and funded 3 projects at seed level from a pool of over 80 proposals. Major goal of the pilot entrepreneur ship project was to enable a targeted student demographic to bringforth socially conscious innovative ideas to from concept to commercialization. We are determined to scale up this effort by infusing business savvy, paving access to capital and mentorship, while stoking the innermost passions of these bright minds. Successful implementation of this pilot program has opened many avenues through which EP can maturate and help a generation of entrepreneurs build the country from the ground up.
- Rural Talent Advancement Project (RTAP) : Dedicated to accelerating talent pool from the less advantaged population.
DetailsWith the vision of motivating and enabling rural students to excel even in the middle of many hardships of life, RTAP strives to achieve it by implementing several project modules among 27 different high schools in the sub-district of Delduar. Successful execution of scholarships awarded to students based on their participation in meritorious competitions, various extracurricular activities, libraries and computer labs has rallied an entire community together to cheer on their best and the brightest to reach for a world beyond their perceived fences.
Since 1998, SpaandanB has focused on the country's under served in health, education and development areas. However SpaandanB has grown in its operational capability and population outreach. We now want to forge ahead with more ambitious goals of enabling fundamental causal factors that can propel the country forward. We welcome your participation in our amazing journey to make a difference in the lives of our youth, and run alongside them in their race to win.
The event will be held on Sunday, Dec 4th, 2011 from 12 noon to 4 pm at David's Restaurant at the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club, 5151 Stars and Stripes Drive, Santa Clara, CA. (map)
