Every year SpaandanB arranges multiple volunteering
activities in the local community. Some of these activities are
listed below:

Second Harvest Food Bank rallies community resources to assist people
who are hungry in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. Second Harvest
has teamed up with other Bay Area food banks in an effort to raise
money for all Bay Area Food Banks to help feed children during the
summer months when the kids are out of the school meal program and
their parents have no means to feed them.
SpaandanB volunteers participated in a food sort project at Second
Harvest Food Bank and sorted more than 30 food containers.

Resource
Area for Teachers (RAFT) provides thousands of Bay Area teachers
and community groups with a wide range of interactive learning materials,
enhancing math, science, technology and art programs. Materials
are surplus items donated by over 1,000 local businesses and range
from cardboard tubes to computers! SpaandanB volunteers helped RAFT
sort the surplus items and package them in kits to be used by teachers.

SpaandanB team volunteering at RAFT

Second
Harvest Food Bank rallies community resources to assist people
who are hungry in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. SpaandanB
volunteers packaged 40,000 lbs of rice and beans in less than two
hours. The sorted food was distributed to families struggling
with low-wage jobs, growing housing costs and homelessness. It also
went to feed low-income seniors who receive a weekly bag of groceries
through the Operation Brown Bag Program. The rest of the food went
to low-income volunteers who are helping others while helping themselves.
