It has left many parts of the country under water - with people having no means to escape their despair. Many people lost their lives and many lost their homes. United Nations warned that Bangladesh may face a massive humanitarian crisis soon. FYI, Bangladesh is a country of roughly one fifth the size of Texas with more than 140 million people. It is basically a river delta; the big Himalayan rivers run through it before relinquishing themselves in the Bay of Bengal. While flood is almost an annual phenomenon, this year has been especially bad because of heavy monsoon in the upper Himalayas. If you would like to help out or you are looking for a place to donate, this could be a great opportunity. You may have your favorite charity organization, agency already doing relief work in Bangladesh. You may wish to contact them in this regard.
