Humanitarian Delivery Flight To Bangladesh - 2012

You have done it again! In joint collaboration with Boeing corporation and Emirates Airlines, SpaandanB USA team was able to send more than 25 thousand pounds of gently used winter clothes, shari, salwar kamiz, blankets, and children toys to disadvantaged people in Bangladesh. Opportunely, these donations reached Bangladesh just in time when the country was stricken by the worst winter in recent history.

This humanitarian drive is another addition to SpaandanB’s benevolent project pool. It all started in 2011, when Boeing Bangladeshi employees discovered the possibility of using Emirates as a carrier to send relief goods to Bangladesh. In response to this noble invitation, SpaandanB team did not waste any time diving into the action. A well thought-out plan and team effort became necessary for SpaandanB to achieve the extensive task of gathering, packaging, and delivering the humanitarian goods to Bangladesh in a short period of time. Setting up several collection centers throughout the United States, SpaandanB team first collected donations, such as gently used winter clothes, shari, salwar kamiz, toys and so on. Once the collection was over, the team gathered all the donations at a central location where they packaged all the items according to the specifications from Boeing. Once the packaging was done, the boxes were ready to be sent over to Boeing for carrying and delivering to Bangladesh. In 2011, SpaandanB sent 400 boxes to Bangladesh. As the word spread, this year the number of boxes sent have more than doubled.

As with other SpaandanB projects, this humanitarian drive exhibited SpaandanB’s team work and dedication for putting smiles to the faces of poor and disadvantaged people in Bangladesh. As the latest update from the SpaandanB team in Bangladesh shows, most of the goods have been distributed at various cities in Bangladesh where the need seemed countless. Our kudos to those SpaandanB volunteers who did not hesitate a bit delivering these goods to the poor in such cold weather. For these volunteers as well as the donors, those disadvantaged people will have sound sleep tonight under the warmth of the blankets. These winter clothes will surely mitigate the suffering of many needy people this year. What an accomplishment SpaandanB team!
